We are in a very rural location and are incredibly lucky to have an abundance of wildlife that share our woodland with us and call it their home too. Therefore, we regret that pets are not permitted to stay at A Little Bit of Rough.
The woodland is also surrounded by farmland with livestock adjoining our site, which sometimes like to come for a visit too!
We kindly ask guests with pets to make sure they have made suitable arrangements for their furry loved ones in advance of their stay
We are located approximately 5 mins drive from the gorgeous little market town of Uppingham & 15 minutes from Rutland water.

In our canvas lodges we do not have any power outlets. There is a solar powered charger (weather permitting) for phones & tablets. We would advise that all phones & tablets are fully charged before you stay and if you have one bring a car phone charger or portable power pack.
The Rocket Lodge & The Longhouse both have electricity / power outlets.
The maximum capacity of the Canvas Lodge’s & Rocket Lodge is up to 6 guests (maximum 4 x adults) plus 1 x baby in travel cot if required.
The Longhouse how is adult only, sleeping up to 4 x adults.
Arrival time is between 4:00pm & 6:30pm . If we are ahead of schedule or we know we can offer an earlier check-in in advance of your stay we will either email you or drop you a text message to let you know your accommodation is ready.
Our standard departure is by 9:30am. However, we always try to be flexible and if we are able to offer a later check-out time due to not all properties being occupied or your departure being on a different day to others, we will leave details in your lodge on your Welcome Note in the kitchen.
Our housekeepers will require access to your accommodation from the time specified.
Due to site security / very limited parking and to keep the woodland extra special for guests staying, day visitors are not permitted to enter the A Little Bit of Rough site.
Wild swimming is not permitted in any of our ponds.
The quality of our water is not tested for guests to swim and we have plants / weeds that grow above and below the surface of the water.
We do not permit single night stays, our minimum stay is 2 x nights.
we kindly ask all guests to bring their own bath & hand towels for their stay.
2 x t-Towels & a bath mat are provided by A Little Bit of Rough for each stay
Due to the nature of our location and accommodation, the lodges are not suitable for wheelchair access.

We welcome low-key hen / stag do’s at A Little Bit of Rough.
Theses are limited to 4 adults in 1 x lodge. We do not accept multiple lodge bookings.
As part of our site license, amplified music is not permitted at any time.
This is also in consideration of other guests staying as we want all of our guests staying to enjoy a peaceful relaxing stay with us.
Due to our location and in the interest of site security, we do not permit food deliveries to the woodland. There is a well stocked Co-op in Uppingham which is a 7 minute drive away or a Tesco Supermarket in Oakham which is a 15 minute drive away, both will cater for all your needs.
Yes we are mains connected so the water in the lodges is safe to drink.
The A Little Bit of Rough site and all accommodation are non-smoking, therefore, smoking is not permitted at any time.
Make sure you pack warm cosy clothing for your stay. Onesies & slippers are a great addition to your suitcase.
When the wood-burning stove is in operation in the canvas lodges, the temperature inside gets lovely and warm.
However, we do like to remind all guests, that you are staying in a tent, albeit a very posh one!
