The safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff has always been our top priority at A Little Bit of Rough.

During COVID-19 we have conducted a Risk Assessment to help keep our guests, staff and ourselves safe, and we will be taking extra measures to keep you safe during your stay and ensure that you can relax and enjoy your break without additional worry. This means we will be implementing and following some new procedures. A full and detailed copy will be sent to you once a booking has been placed. Below is an overview as to what you can expect.

  • Follow Government cleaning advice for non-healthcare environments.
  • We will have an approved Risk Assessment in place.
  • Social Distancing – All of our canvas lodges are well spaced with private bathroom facilities, making it extremely easy to social distance at A little Bit of Rough.
  • In our canvas lodges highly touched spaces and hard surfaces will be cleaned then disinfected with cleaning products that conform to the appropriate standards, as used in health care settings.
  • Guidance will be in place within the canvas lodges to remind guests of personal hygiene (hand washing) which is paramount to stopping the spread of COVID-19. Hand Soap and sanitiser will be available in the canvas lodges.
  • Hand sanitiser stations have been installed in the lodges and higher traffic areas such as the entrance gate and main woodstore.
  • Due to the additional work in preparing the lodges, Check-out will be at 9.30am and in check – in times to 5pm to enable Government guidelines to be followed.
  • Enable self-check ins and practice social distancing during your stay – We are always available during your stay if you have any questions and we come and say ‘Hi’ to all guests from a safe distance once you have arrived.
  • We will be sending you an App to download with all the information that you need for self-check-in, along with all other information with regards to your canvas lodge and how everything within it operates.

CANCELLATION POLICY (NON COVID)

Cancellation Policy (Non Covid19)

Cancellation by A Little Bit of Rough – In the event that we need to cancel your holiday we shall inform you as soon as possible and refund all monies paid to us, by you, within 14 days.

Cancellation by you the Guest – We realise that sometimes plans change and if you have to cancel your holiday please let us know as soon as possible and we will try to work with you to find the best solution. In all cases we will endeavour to re-let your accommodation. If you cancel with more than 8 weeks until your stay, when just the Deposit has been paid, and we are successful in re-letting your lodge, then we will refund your monies paid to us less an administration fee of £50 to cover re-advertising costs and our time. If we are unable to re-let the accommodation, we will retain the one third of deposit paid.

If you cancel after the date that your full balance should have been paid and we have sent emails requesting payment, no refund of your deposit is due unless we are successful at re-letting the lodge, then we will refund your monies paid to us less an administration fee of £50 to cover re-advertising costs and our time.

If the holiday is within 8 weeks, when the full balance is paid, if we are unable to re-let the lodge, we will retain the full payment. If we are successful at re-letting the lodge, then we will refund your monies paid to us less an administration fee of £50 to cover re-advertising costs and our time.

Guest inability (or the inability of any, some or all your intended party) or disinclination to travel to and stay at A Little Bit of Rough for any reason.
This includes – but is not limited to – all illnesses (including Covid19), a requirement or recommendation to self-isolate or quarantine or are shielding. A call to jury duty, military service, incarceration, change in personal or work circumstances, family emergencies, travel delays, vehicle breakdown, and delays with public transport.  These remain at Your risk and do not give rise to a right to cancel or to receive a refund unless we are able to re-let your lodge, where you will receive a full refund of monies paid less an administration fee of £50. This is to cover our costs for re-advertising your stay and to cover our time.

COVID CANCELLATION POLICY

Covid19 Cancellations –

National Lockdown Covid-19 – In the event that A Little Bit of Rough is not able to open due to either the government imposing a national or local lockdown in our county of Rutland preventing us to open then the following options will be available to you:

  1. Reschedule your stay to another time. If the stay that you reschedule to is more expensive than your current stay, all we ask is that the difference in the cost of the stay is paid.
  2. Request a refund. We understand that sometimes guests are not able to reschedule their stay to another time and therefor would prefer to have a refund. For this option there is a small deduction from the amount of either your deposit or the full balance if you have paid in full paid of 5%, this is to cover our costs when processing both the booking & refund.

Regional / Local Lockdown Covid-19 – In the event that the government imposes a regional / local lockdown for your given address, preventing you from travelling to A Little Bit of Rough for the dates of your stay then the following options will be available to you:

In the event of you needing to cancel your holiday due to having to self isolate or if any of your party have caught Covid, then our existing Cancellations and Refunds policy will be in force.

We strongly recommended you take out appropriate Travel Insurance to cover these eventualities. If you choose not to take out appropriate Travel Insurance, then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.

It is the responsibility of the guest to acquire suitable travel insurance for themselves and their party to cover their booking. A Little Bit of Rough strongly recommends that the guest acquires suitable insurance to cover circumstances beyond the guests control such as, but not limited to, jury duty, incarceration, change in personal or work circumstances, military service, illness – including Covid19 and shielding, family emergencies and travel delays.

Covid19 is now a known risk and it is possible for you to insure your holiday against it, lead guest or any other member of the party having Covid19, the lead guest or any member of the party having to isolate or quarantine, or you wishing to shield any members of the party and enforced localised restrictions.

There are several options which include cover for Covid19 related cancellations available from organisations such as:

Trailfindershttps://www.trailfinders.com/insurance#/step1 or https://www.coverwise.co.uk/Travel-Insurance/corona-virus.aspx or www.gocompare.com

In no way do we endorse any of these organizations and it is the responsibility of the guest to satisfy themselves that the level of cover offered is sufficient and appropriate.

PETS POLICY

We are in a very rural location and are incredibly lucky to have an abundance of wildlife that share our woodland with us and call it their home too, including deer’s, hares & badgers to name but a few. Therefore, we regret that pets are not permitted to stay at A Little Bit of Rough (as detailed on our website and in our Terms & Conditions).

The woodland is also surrounded by farmland with livestock adjoining our site, which sometimes like to come for a visit too!

We kindly ask guests with pets to make sure they have made suitable arrangements for their furry loved ones in advance of their stay.

We know that people love their pets, but please do not be tempted to smuggle them in as exceptions will not be made.

NOISE POLICY

Noise – We really want all our guests to enjoy a peaceful relaxing stay with us. Therefore, to keep the woodland peaceful and so as not to disturb the other guests staying / wildlife and our neighbours, we kindly ask that guests keep noise to a minimum from 9:00pm onwards and after 10.00pm the only sounds that should be heard are those of quiet whisperings from our guests and the sounds of the wildlife that call Spindleberry woods their home. We are a predominantly family site and there may well be young children sleeping. You are staying in a canvas lodge, and noise will carry.

We do not allow any music or radios at any time as noise is amplified and it travels very easily between canvas lodges. This also forms part of our site licence.

We also ask guests to be conscious of how much noise their party are making around the fire pits or wood-fired hot tubs at night. We promise we aren’t the ‘Party Police’; we want ALL of our guests to enjoy a stay at A little Bit of Rough, but if you are looking for a venue to come and play music and be up late into the night enjoying karaoke around the fire pit or in a wood-fired hot tub, then we aren’t the site for you.

We have 2 x children ourselves and appreciate that they tend to be early risers! If parents of young children can try to let the adults sleep in in the morning, without unleashing the children to the great outdoors until after 8am it would be greatly appreciated!

In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to ask you and your party to leave if there is repeated noise after having received two warnings and as you will have breached the terms of your contract with us, no refunds will be forthcoming.

Music – As part of our site license amplified music is not permitted at any time. Please use headphones if you wish to listen to music or any other device
