Willow

Willow – Our third lodge is hugged by trees on one side and our hammocks (exclusively for Willow) on the other. You approach the third of our lodges by following our path past Oak, Ash and our wildlife pond which leads you to the bridge to the front deck. Situated in a lower position in the woodland, Willow enjoys views over the lower woodland as well as the spectacular views across the rolling Rutland countryside from your elevated deck with its glass balustrade or from the comfort of your lounge area.

Willow has its own en-suite bathroom with a slipper bath with shower mixer and separate en-suite wash room with a washbasin. In addition you have your very own private flushing loo, situated separately to the rear of the tent with its own bridge from the tent. Hot water is provided on demand. We provide all the bath linen you should need, plus a gorgeous range of bathroom products, including shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Also provided are basic essentials such as loo paper, hand towels, and hand soap.

At the heart of the lodge is our wood burning stove: it will keep the lodge warm in all weathers, and provides a means of cooking much like a normal cooker with a hob and oven and the luxury of a warming draw for you plates. We do also provide a small gas ring so that you can enjoy that all important cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate without having to light the stove.

The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware, kitchen roll, cling film, foil, bin bags, washing up essentials, and tea towels. It has its own fridge freezer to ensure the ice cream doesn’t melt and your favourite tipple is chilled to perfection.

The dining table provides seating for six and is the perfect venue to discuss the day’s adventures and make plans for the next.

SPINDLEBERRY STARS

We are very lucky not to have any major towns or cities creating light pollution in the county of Rutland, so star gazing at Spindleberry Woods is absolutely amazing.

Whether it be the twin room, King-sized master or bespoke cabin bed you are assured of a restful night’s sleep in Willow with our comfy mattress and all seasons duvets and for that little bit of extra cosy each bed gets a hot water bottle to snuggle up with.

At the front of the Lodge is the large deck area which is surrounded by a glass balustrade so you can make the most of the view. The deck has a dining table and seat up to six, we also have two loungers to lie back and relax on. There is also an outdoor games store packed with things to keep you entertained outdoors. Why not break out the hot water bottles and blankets and recline for an evening of stargazing with your favourite tipple, or try and spot the international space station as it glides across the night sky. Or take the opportunity for an evening of spotting badgers, bats, barn owls and the occasional fox. If you are really lucky you will spot one of the fallow deers that visit the woodland.

In the daytime the opportunities to spot wildlife are endless, from the aerial acrobatics of dragon flies to grazing rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, partridge and hares to the majestic buzzards and red kites.

To the front of the deck and just across the bridge to your lodge is a dedicated BBQ area that’s perfect for when alfresco dinning is the order of the day.
