OAK LODGE

The first of our lodges ‘Oak’ is hugged by trees on one side and our wildlife pond on the other so you can enjoy the embrace of our woodland as well as the spectacular views across the rolling Rutland countryside, or the amazing sun sets from your elevated deck with its glass balustrade or the comfort of your lounge area.

At the heart of the canvas lodges is a wood burning stove: it will keep the lodge warm in all weathers and provides a means of cooking much like a normal cooker with a hob and oven. We do also provide a small gas ring so that you can enjoy that all important cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate without having to light the stove.

The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware. It also has a fridge / freezer to ensure the ice cream doesn’t melt and your favourite tipple is chilled to perfection.

All of our canvas lodges have their own en-suite bathrooms with a roll top bath with shower mixer and separate en-suite wash room with a washbasin. In addition you have your very own private toilet situated separately to the rear of the tent with its own bridge from the tent (just a couple of steps away). Hot water is provided on demand.

We also provide a gorgeous range of bathroom products, including shampoo, conditioner and body wash and hand soap.

The dining table provides bench seating and is the perfect venue to discuss the days adventures and make plans for the next.

Whether it be the King-sized master, twin room or bespoke cabin bed you are assured of a restful night’s sleep in Oak with our comfy mattresses and all seasons’ duvets and for that little bit of extra cosy each bed gets a hot water bottle to snuggle up with.

To the front of Oak you there is a wood-fired hot tub (optional extra item) your fire-pit, wood-fired pizza oven and hammocks to relax in.

At the front of the Lodge is the large deck area which is surrounded by a glass balustrade so you can make the most of the view. The deck has a dining table with six dining chairs and two reclining chairs for an evening of stargazing. You can even try and spot the international space station as it glides across the night sky.

You could take the opportunity for an evening of spotting badgers, bats, barn owls and the occasional fox. If you are really lucky you will spot one of the fallow deers that visit the woodland.

In the daytime the opportunities to spot wildlife are endless, from the aerial acrobatics of dragon flies to grazing rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, partridge and hares to the majestic buzzards and red kites.

To the front of the deck and just across the bridge to your lodge is a dedicated BBQ area that’s perfect for when alfresco dinning is the order of the day.

NB: All lodges come c/w wood-fired pizza oven, fire pit & hammocks.
